‘The new wilderness’, a natural film from Dutch soil. For animals from Dutch soil. The Oostvaardersplassen and the wildlife that wanders around there have been there for a while, so in this respect this wilderness is not new. But an exclusive look through a nature film that reminds you of the widely praised ‘Planet Earth’. Except for a completely different flora and fauna: ‘The new wilderness’ is about what Dutch nature has to offer us.

EMS Films has received permission from Staatsbosbeheer to film for two years in this untouched piece of nature in the drained Flevopolder. Makers Ruben Smit and Mark Verkerk have captured the game by means of first-class film equipment. And that is to be abandoned. The images are really sharp. Through the use of cable cams, macro, time lapse and high speed, they have created impressive effects that all contribute to the visual attraction that is called ‘The new wilderness’.
